《Biography》※※※
The son of the current Qalli sub-clan Khan. Kahbukis fate was thought to be sealed seeing as he was originally born into the little world of the Steppe to follow in his great great grandfathers footsteps to conquer the Naadam under the banner of the Qalli tribe. However, recently our little warlord in training hath found a love in Doman (Kabuki) theater. Thus after careful convincing and with the permission/blessing from his father, Kahbuki was able to leave the Steppe in the pursuit to venture out and experience the rest of the Eorzean world... as long as he returned in time for the Naadam-- a condition he was happy to oblige with.With some close Qalli brethren by his side, Kahbuki was able to travel to Kugane where he and his small troupe made a name for themselves in the art of theater, but in the form of street performances.Usually, Kahbuki with his rough and tough looks, plays the bad guys in their skits and shows, but in reality our boy is a simple minded Xaela who just enjoys and finds comfort in the more "aggressive" ways of life. (Because of this it's easy to mistake him as a Buduga and other battle known tribes rather than a Qalli).You can say he is more of a thespian than a songbird, but never the less our boy does sing and play instruments on rare occasions-- rather usually when he is back home in the Steppe with his tribe. When in song, his sub-tribe of Qalli usually go for the more rough and guttural melody (Mongolian throat singing - *the Hu/Hunnu Rock)-- followed by more uses of war drums and such to further imply the fact that these songbirds, do in fact, have sharp talons.---The permission to pursue his passion with his best mates is all Kahbuki could ask for, but this doesn't mean he wasn't met without trials. There is a reason why the mention of this Qalli troupe seems so hushed among the locals and a headache for Sekiseigumi-- mentions of the group are met with either shifty looks or hours of interrogation.Kahbuki and his troupe focus on performing dramas and stories based on their history and strive for the most realistic re-tellings and accounts of them. Dangerous props and authentic and sharpened weapons are used without restraint within this small band of professional(?) performers... Which means bloody and gruesome scenes can look quite authentic... if you know what I mean. (Luckily there is a healer on hand, but he can only do so much.)Most of the patrons who continue to come and enjoy these gore filled chapters are mostly ones already desensitized to the pools and splashes of red at their feet. However for the unlucky few who unknowingly stumble upon these scenes, most of the time they immediately go into a state of panic and call for the Sekiseigumi to put a halt to the gathering at once. The troupe has been an annoyance and thorn at the side of the Kugane peace keepers ever since their debut performance, the violent and gory telling of "the Crimson Moon Royal",
a play Kahbuki personally directed and composed.On a constant the troupe is shut down by the peace keepers, but much like their dramatic personas, being so young and rebellious themselves, the troupe on more than one account had defied against the Sekiseigumi's orders to cease and desist, and fought back in the name of Steppe culture!---Being on the run and kept from your passion is tiring and like on the battlefield all warriors have their stopping point. While the troupes fire still glows and rages on in their hearts like the rays of the Sun, a dark cloud was in the midst of overshadowing them and spirits hung on by the thinnest tether. The group gathered together on the stage of their secret theater within the Kogane Dori to discuss their future. Being the leader of the group, Kahbuki, was tasked with the decision of either returning to the Steppes as failures, or continue on with the day to day struggle of their art being only barely able to give them a manageable living. Kahbuki and the troupe never did any of this for the coin to begin with, but rather for the love of the 'song' they all share, however it was hard to watch his friends-- his family hang their heads so low.As dawn approached, within the distance came a ship! This was the first ship-- and Eorzean vessel, that had managed to make it past Garlean checkpoints. One by one adventurers of all shapes and sizes stepped down to aid the East and liberate its people. With this cast of travelers, the ship also brought an idea for Kahbuki to bring their art to the West!-- A journey of sorts!!While travel is still dangerous and the adventures ahead are still unknown, one by one they all agreed to part separate ways and eventually meet each other in Eorzea to carry out their passion and stories while collecting new ones along the way.Kahbuki and his pup Chuchuu were the first of the group of five to arrive in the West. He is surprised to see many Xaelas roam around, but often see them out of touch with their ancestors which disappoints him so. Waiting for his family, in the meantime our pale demon looking warlord roams these foreign lands to see what these Westerners are actually made of.

The stare of this hooded figure is quite unnerving. You think to yourself 'Did this man somehow fall asleep in this position? Is he angry, or is he a mischievous fellow and plotting something dastardly?? Or is he perhaps looking at someone else over yonder--?' As the pale Xaela pulls back his hood, out from the shadow you would first see the intricate mask come into light. It does well in hiding the true intentions of his white and red rimmed eyes glaring daggers into your very soul. He holds his head up high and briefly looks you up and down with still nothing to discern from. There seems to be no weapon at his side, but still you step back with your own at the ready to defend yourself, and/or with legs turned ready to flee-- but just before you could act, a muffled chuckle comes from this Xaelan man seconds before he lunges a few ilms at you and exclaims with a frightening..."Boo!"---This Qalli is used to these types of weary looks from strangers. Fist fights from drunken patrons who think he is patronizing them is also very common, and very encouraged seeing that it is a form of entertainment to Kahbuki on slow days when his instrumental performances bring in a slow crowd.He is very cocky and he knows it-- alot of times he also probably doesn't and threats simply go over his head since all that thinks about at the moment is the best way(s) possible to humiliate his 'food'. Eorzean Common isn't his native language so threats and fight banter are almost always in his native Xaelan tongue or a surprisingly rude and offensive whistle.Kahbuki really does seem like your typical jock and himbo who knows he is hot shit-- he still and will always believe it and make an effort to show it off any time and any given chance. Still, while he seems one dimensional with this, there is also (secretly) a caring(?) but stupid older brother type that he usually reserves for children who seem like they need help.Baby talk usually and only happens when it's just him and his pup. Catching Kahbuki squishing, kissing and calling his tiny furry son "<<Mister Stinky>>" isn't exactly embarrassing to him, but depending on who you are he may deny it of ever happening, or use it to flirt and poke fun at the person who witnessed it.(Embarrassment? He hardly knows her!)In actual terms of flirting, Kahbuki's style is that he has little to no idea that he is actually doing it. More than often he just wants to have fun and make all sorts of acquaintances here and there. Making romantic gestures on him are either lost in translation or Kahbuki is just that good in acting like he didn't see it or understand the motive.Him as a flirt himself... well it's a rare sight to see but he isn't a stranger to it. Kahbuki is an actor after all so no telling if his words and gestures are true or simply humoring the energy he is presented with.---Anger with him is easy to see when it's happening, but not as easy to catch beforehand. His resting face is always a menacing stare with his intimidating white eyes and red limbal rings-- that's just how he is. Knowing he is angered or annoyed can only really be spotted with idle yet harsh back talk and his glances darting around the area for quick escape routes or authority who may intervene... often it is the latter.The Qalli tribe and his friends are the only family he has ever really known. Family, blood related or by bond, is really important to Kahbuki. Any threats to a family member is a threat to him and to all; he will act upon these threats to him and or others as he sees fit.Usually these instances are met with a 'polite' reminder that this Xaelan came straight from the unforgiving harsh plains of the Steppe, therefore there is almost nothing one can say or do that will make him back down or keep from mauling into a pulp in the back alley or right there where they stand.He may not speak or act like it, but this young Qalli is quite smart in his own ways. Before coming to Eorzea he had to learn to be resourceful-- learn to be a leader for when the day comes he will take his fathers place and lead his tribe and his people after taking the Dawn Throne. His mind still thinks in his native tongue of Old Auri so things tend to get lost in translation when it comes out of his mouth. "Tough love" is all he has ever really known and expresses his fondness and familiarity to friends as such.(Though there are some cases this front of being a fearless tough love Xaela is put a side and a more understanding and "kind(?)" demeanor takes place.)---

He isn't necessarily as big and strong as a Roegadyn or as swift and lean as a Vierra, but Kahbuki can hold his own and very well.Kahbuki was trained in the song of war and art of the battle field at a very young age so it comes to no surprise that his physique is quite fit and toned given his many years of self discipline and rigid structure. With arms and hands trained relentlessly in the ways of a Monk, you bet his punches is like getting knocked out by a rampaging Behemoth driving a semi-truck. He has no use for brass knuckles or any augments of the sorts. Only his fists are his most trusted weapons-- not to mention that with beast like punches also comes equally as beastly and lighting fast kicks and agility... Both of which are almost as equally as spectacular as ass.His clothes and wraps usually deceive his opponents on how strong and agile Kahbuki really is under all those crimson layers. It leads to precious seconds being wasted on wondering and assumptions about lies under, but that is exactly what the Xaela wants moments before he strikes with a swift and deadly blow.His hair is as black as night with some streaks of faint silver strands that can only be caught under the stars lights of the Steppe. There is no telling how long it takes for Kahbuki to fashion his hair in the way it is right now with his feral up-do and confusing braid, but with that being said he tends to leave his hair the way it is for long periods of time-- almost never relieving it down. On the rare occasions (usually long periods of off time or after a swim) it is let down, the long locks fall gently on top of his shoulders and his bangs distort any means of seeing what is in front of him until he finds a ribbon or a band sturdy enough to allow him to tie his hair into a tasteful bun to continue going about his daily routine.With skin as pale as his many Otharians and Hingans who see him for the first time call him a demon or an Oni of sorts. It doesn't help that as a Dark Knight in training that he sometimes carries a giant club on his back-- but to each their own. Kahbuki may be as white as a ghost at first glance, underneath is a hint of pink as the crimson blood of the Qalli and his forefathers run proudly through his veins. Surprisingly he is also pleasantly warm/cozy to the touch!There's no way of telling if the crimson face paint on his skin is a painstaking process Kahbuki applies every morning, or rather a mark of passage tattooed onto his face to let others know he is a son and warrior of Qalli. He loves to hear theories from others!No one knows which side of the family these came from, but a rarely seen detail of Kahbuki is the fact that he has sharp fangs. When his father learned about Bukis little blessing, he believes it is the sign from Azim that his son is the fearsome warrior that will bring the Qalli name out from the winds and into the Sun's Radiance... Mother on the other hand thinks it was a gift from Nhaama for all the beasts and offerings she have given to in the Dusk Mothers name. Kahbuki thinks they make him look hot and he knows he is.Everything else about Kahbuki is very much typical of your everyday Xaela. His horns are currently all intact, but are not alien to having a few chips and breaks here and there. They usually grow back within the coming months until they break or chip again (which is very likely given his hobby fighting things and people out of no where.)His scales are all intact as well save for a few broken and torn ones that seemed to never grow back properly from past skirmishes with strangers and beasts alike. Kahbuki doesn't seem to care seeing that most of these scales are hidden by his layers of clothing and guards.As for his tail... while very typically Xaelan and "normal" for the most part, Kahbuki prides himself with learning how to control its movements better than most of his kind. It may not be as long as a Miqo'tes, but being able to use it wrap around grab small objects, throw them a ways away and play with his little pup is a nice little talent he has outside of fight and song.

- His whistles are very very loud. It's from how the Qalli tribes communicate to each other without words while on the hunt! (Whistles can get up to ear drum/horn rattling levels!)
- Kahbuki is always made to wake early and it makes for a grump. If he is left to his own devises he would sleep late into the afternoons... but ChuChuu needs breakfast and walkies so Kahbuki wakes for him and him only.
- Airships terrify(?) Kahbuki. The last ones he saw were ones he saw fly over the Steppe as a babe and dropped balls of fire on the land. His father and the elders quickly dispatched them, but the memory still stays with Kahbuki. *He is not as scared of them, but rather now he just refuses to set foot on one in case it breaks down in the air.
- The deep ocean "scares" Kahbuki due to the silence. He doesn't like that.
- He found his pup ChuChuu after finding him alone in the Steppe and pilfering the remains of a dead Baras. Kahbuki was hungry himself and was going to take the pup back as food, but the pup fought back with much ferocity and ever since Kahbuki fell in love with the little scrapper and took him in as his little son.
- Arriving to Kugane was the first time he had ever seen a Lalafell. He finds them odd and for a while considered them concentrated yokais of evil.
- His neck is ticklish, but trying to tickle him may end up giving you few less teeth, a black eye, and most probably a concussion.
- There is no real reason for Kahbuki to wear the mask other than he thinks it's cool and makes him look scary. Whatever rumors people think it is for, Kahbuki just goes along with it.
- Has he used his acting skill to get out of certain situations and his way of things?_ Absolutely._
- Gil isn't very important to him. Where it goes is usually to feed ChuChuu and himself as well as give them a nice cozy place to sleep for the night. Maybe a matching outfit or two... maybe.
- A moderate drinker. He can't necessarily drink like sailor or get plastered like a lightweight, but he can get a few drinks in before feeling a bit inebriated and more "fun". (He is alot more mouthy and stupidly aggressive and clumsy as drunk.)
- Prefers Eastern drinks more than Western ones. (Steppe drinks is that good shit that gets you real fucked up.)

Kahbuki is nearly always down to brawl (be it clean or dirty) since it brings him back good memories of life in the Steppe. He doesn't like to hold back any punches and tends to get lost in the rush.※A patron of the arts - Kahbuki had often performed in small guerilla plays that he and his troupe of Qalli put on for the locals in Kugane.
